Pink glitter: the epitome of a teenage girl
A gaggle of girls spread out in my bathroom,
pinkish
purplish
blueish glitter on their hands
and brushes. It
spreads to my sinks and fills them with
Iceberg lettuce
and lean chicken breast line my lunchbox
3 ish cups and 4.2 oz, pan seared, it’s
Almost time to go! But
wait! Feathers! Hairspray! Photos! Boyfriends!
Heels clank loudly on the hard wooden floor, making
my ankle wobble
and
yogurt and black berry bowls in a gifted
container that was meant to hold
more but at least now it won’t overflow unlike
other girls
We’re not the normal
kind of sparkle we
mess up the contour and
glitter falls off our eyelids and
sometimes we need our moms to help us with eyeliner, they
Fill up the plate and hand it to me
my mom has been where I sit
on a pillow because the cushioned chair hurts
To pull off the glued eyelashes but
I feel so much better
I can breathe in the pink glitter that
lines my lunchbox and it
fills me up but I will have more
and a sweet treat too because
you have to
wash the
pinkish
purpleish
blueish
glitter out of your lungs
down the sink but not
off your hands and brushes where they will make you feel
sparkly
